Annotation | Over 60s comprise the fastest growing age group of prisoners. However, as the needs of younger inmates dominate the prison system, the mental, social and physical well-being of prisoners aged 60+ can suffer, even after release. This article highlights the disadvantages faced by older prisoners - particularly women, whose needs are not catered for, especially with regard to education and training. (RH). |
