Annotation | Data from 333 social work students in Florida were analysed to develop a model to predict career preferences on serving older or younger clients. Using discriminant functional analysis, the major predictors were future intent to work with older people with Alzheimer's disease (AD), interest in social work practice with older people with Alzheimer's disease, current voluntary work with older people, previous employment with older people, and voluntary work with older people during social work education. Findings also suggest that exposure to older people is important for career specialisation. (RH). |
