AnnotationWhereas women interact with the health care system throughout much of their lives, the health-related trajectory for healthy men to have little contact with a doctor during their working lives. The author of this paper reports on a population-based trial in Western Australia of screening men for abdominal aortic aneurysm, at which general questions about lifestyle were also asked, from which information about the association between "prudent" behaviours and related mortality were. established. This is one of eleven papers from the International Federation on Ageing (IFA) 8th Global Conference in May 2006 in this final issue of Generations Review. (RH)
