AnnotationThe myths that AIDS is a disease of the young and that older people are not sexually active ignore the indirect but devastating impact of AIDS on older people in South Africa. The author describes the work of PADCA (Pietermaritzburg and District Council for the Care of the Aged) in providing information and education workshops on AIDS to older women. This is one of eleven papers from the International Federation on Ageing (IFA) 8th Global Conference in May 2006 in this final issue of Generations Review. (RH).
