AnnotationThe call for evidence was conducted as part of the Inquiry into Mental Health and Well-being in Later Life, a joint project of Age Concern and the Mental Health Foundation. The Inquiry is a 3-year, UK-wide project, the aims of which are to: raise awareness of mental health issues; empower older people; create an evidence base; influence policy and planning; improve services; and serve as a good model of partnership and UK-wide working. 882 people aged 50+, along with 137 organisations and professionals responded. The appendices list all the themes that emerged from the questionnaires first for individuals and then for organisations and professionals. Five critical issues for further work by the Inquiry are identified: public attitudes to mental health issues; staying active; social networks; standard of living; and physical health. (RH).
