Annotation | Consultation on the document "Making partnership work for patients, carers and service users" highlighted some themes and aims for partnership working in provision of NHS services, while also recognising existing joint working between health and social care organisations. The consultation looked at how partnership work can be better supported at national level through the development of a national forum and how best this will be supported at community level. There was general support for setting up a National Strategic Forum, with the proviso that the organisation should: have teeth; set out a work plan and provide feedback on progress; be accountable to Ministers; have a clear strategy for communicating effectively across the voluntary and community sectors (VCS) and the NHS; and have a representative membership.
