Annotation | This technical report describes some of the methods and research used to support the main report, "Progress in tackling pensioner poverty:. encouraging take-up of entitlements". A range of quantitative analysis was used. Chapter 2 describes the quantitative data used, also the modelling of Pension Credit take-up using Customer Segmentation Data. Local case study visits (outlined in Chapter 3) were used to gain a detailed understanding of local take-up activity. A survey of local authority take-up activity (Chapter 4) includes results from the questionnaire used; the focus was the Pension Service. Other chapters cover: review of the Partnership Fund; the literature review carried out by Nottingham University; international comparisons of benefit take-up; and recommendations made by the Committee of Public Accounts in 2003.
