Annotation | This conference brought together experienced resettlement practitioners, refugee community organisations of previously resettled refugees, academic experts, researchers and policy makers from the Home Office and other Government Departments to discuss research and best practice on resettlement. The aims of the conference wre to inform current policy development and implementation of the forthcoming UK resettlement programme and inform future strategic policy development of the UK resettlement programme. The conference presentations considered best practice from previous and existing resettlement programmes in the UK and elsewhere. The conference concluded by a plenary sessions, where participants could put questions to the speakers and policy officials. The proceedings include several background papers on resettlement, one of which details the UNHCR's (United Nations High Commission for Refugees) categories for resettlement and these include "elderly refugees".
