AnnotationThis circular informs of changes to current regulations, those significant are detailed as follows:. 1. Announces the revised PEA of £19.60 from 10 April 2006. 2. Announces the revised capital limits of £12750 (lower limit) and £2100 (upper limit) from 10 April 2006. 3. Announces revised savings disregards of up to £5.05 per week for individual supported residents aged 65 and over and up to £7.50 per week for couples from 10 April 2006. 4. Reminds councils of local authorities to exercise their discretion NOT to apply the liable relatives rule, as set out at Section 11 of the CRAG. The Annex to this circular gives fuller details. A revised copy of the Charging for Residential Accommodation Guide (CRAG) can be accessed on the DH website. Changes to CRAG are only shown on the internet version. (KJ)
