Annotation | In Lithuania, the trend is toward a rapidly ageing society: 20% of the population is aged 60+, and 15% aged 65+. This article presents facts and figures on social and health care for older people. It notes how the addition of geriatric specialist training to medical and nursing courses since 1995 is beginning to contribute to care of older people, and could serve as an example for other countries also undergoing change.
