Annotation | The Good Sunset Project is being undertaken in partnership with the Hammond Care Group in Australia. In the second of three articles about the project, the authors describe the Getting Through Initiative, which aims to reach individuals with advanced dementia and those close to death. They describe sessions undertaken with four participants, with whom they explored establishing speech communication. They consider the ethical issues, and discuss how staff and relatives might have positive experiences in communicating with people with advanced dementia. (RH). |
