Annotation | Care homes have poor access to physiotherapy and occupational therapy, and consequently staff can be unaware of basic rehabilitation techniques. This article describes the design, content and delivery of a workshop that was devised to enable staff to learn simple strategies to improve and maintain residents' mobility and activity. Aspects covered are: risks of inactivity; walking aids, wheelchairs and other equipment; positioning, sitting and standing; and preventing falls. (RH). |
