| Annotation | This internationally renowned journal is long-established in the field of clinical medicine. It has an international advisory board to peer review all original research that appear in the journal, which is primarily aimed at qualified physicians. Book reviews are included. Published weekly since 1823. Two separate indexes for each volume within each year (January-June; July-December) published. The volume numbering changed in January 1990 which began with consecutive numbering, to start with volume 335 instead of numbering volumes I and II for each half of the year. Annual review issues and supplements on a single topic have appeared since 1995. An anniversary edition celebrating its 175 years was incorporated as part of volume 352, number 9134, 3rd October 1998, which featured all of the Editors of The Lancet; accompanied by an anniversary Supplement. The Lancet went online in September 2003. Ceased holdings at the end of 2002 (issue 9350). (KJ). |
