Annotation | There is a paucity of studies of behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD) in developing countries, ethnic minority groups in a given country and cross-national studies. Such studies of BPSD are emerging and provide evidence of cultural differences in the prevalence and correlates of BPSD. Using comparable and uniform methodology and comparable instruments in cross-cultural studies could allow identification of the genetic and environmental aetiology of BPSD and the influence of gene-environment interaction. This article reviews the literature and the measurement instruments for BPSD. (RH). |
