AnnotationThis annual report summarises the work carried out by the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman for the financial year April 2004 to March 2005. The change of title (previously Health Service Ombudsman for England) reflects the revised organisational structure that was put in place. Parliamentary Ombudsman covers public bodies throughout the United Kingdom but the Health Service Ombudsman has responsibility for the NHS in England only. Summaries of completed investigations into complaints against the NHS are to be found in separate reports published quarterly. (KJ).
