AnnotationThis exhibition featured work of women artists whose lives and experiences mirrored the development of feminism and feminist art in the 1960s and 1970s. There were over 250 submissions to the exhibition and the artists chosen are of tremendous diversity, in background, culture and experience. Their work is in all media from the traditional to the technological. The exhibition selectors included Dr Leonie Kellaher, who writes a brief introduction to the works on "ageing and gender; re-contextualised through art". Frances Borzello, an art historian, also a selector writes on the subject "the art of ageing". (Germaine Greer and Jenny Saville were the other two selectors). The biography of each artist and a sample image of their submitted work then follows on the remaining pages. The exhibition was curated by Monica Petzal from FWA and Rachel Tranter from the Orleans House Gallery. (KJ).
