AnnotationThis Inquiry, which was established in 2004, has found that there are many shortcomings in the current care system in London that disadvantage older people and their carers. A combination of demographic, social, economic and political factors influence the demand for and supply of care services, which are outlined in this summary. The authors make a range of recommendations relating to: reforming policy; investing in market development; improving poor services for specific groups; and mobilising more public and private resources.
