Annotation | The first premise of the Better Government for Older People (BGOP) programme is that a greater level of civic engagement among older people will, by improving the responsiveness of public agencies to their needs, lead to improved delivery of services. Hence, the focus of this report is on civic engagement, from the viewpoint of older people and organisations in the London Borough of Greenwich. Given the fragility of the achievements of BGOP work in the borough, the report considers the strength and depth of existing networks in encouraging civic engagement. (RH). |
