Annotation | This guidance is produced by CSCI and Skills for Care (formerly Topss England) to assist inspectors and providers in judging whether they meet the relevant standards. It is interim guidance which focuses on the interpretation of the current national minimum standards pending the Department of Health (DH) review of the Regulations and standards. It states the qualifications needed by a registered manager, and what other qualifications are "equivalent". Also covered are judgements about whether standards for care homes, and requirements for fitness of registered managers. The reader is referred to the Skills for Care website (www.skillsforcare.org.uk) for further details about National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) component units and National Occupational Standards.
