Annotation | In May 2004, the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) published "Caring in partnership ...", its first ever strategy to promote the contributions that nurses can make to meeting the needs of older people and ensuring their well-being. The strategy was developed in partnership with older people from the National Pensioners Convention (NPC) and Better Government for Older People (BGOP). This report describes the progress that has been made in the first year since the strategy was launched. It reviews progress in achieving the milestones detailed in the strategy and prioritises actions for 2005/06. It also includes a number of short examples of how RCN members have used the strategy in their work and how the RCN is working with partners to further the aims of the strategy, which will undergo another review in 2006.
