Annotation | Middle-aged women are the biggest group working in social care, and once they pass retirement age, such staff are an untapped source of experience. Although the Employment Equality (Age) Regulations which come into force in October 2006 may bring about a transformation of attitudes eventually, the author presents evidence that action needs to be taken now.
