AnnotationThe objective is to improve the overall level of fire safety in buildings in England and Wales where relevant building work is carried out by reducing the size and consequences of fires and thereby saving lives and preventing injuries. This consultation package comprises three separate documents. Part 1 includes the draft of a regulatory impact assessment (RIA) for consultation and a response form (also available at www.odpm.gov.uk/buildingregs). Part 2 is The proposed new edition of Approved document B: Fire safety: Volume 1 (Dwellings). Part 3 is The proposed new edition of Approved document B: Fire safety: Volume 2 (Buildings other than dwellings); this includes buildings such as hospitals and other residential care premises.
