AnnotationWASSR provides an independent advocacy service for older people in Westminster. A specific motivation for this study was the growing perception among those providing advocacy services in WASSR and nationally, that the work of advocates is not only supporting the individual client but is also making a significant contribution to the effectiveness, quality and workload of staff in the statutory sector. This study was compiled using information from interviews with referrers and others associated with statutory service providers or other supporting agencies, as well as cases (including those relating to statutory service provision), and discussions with WASSR staff and other voluntary sector advocacy providers.
