Annotation | This booklet explains why an Equality and Human Rights Commission (CEHR)) is needed and what it will do. It is aimed at federation members of Age Concern England, in their campaign to ensure that the current Equality Bill is made law, and that the CEHR becomes a powerful, effective champion for the rights of older people. The booklet also notes that the Government is introducing legislation to outlaw age discrimination in employment and adult education. However, without a statutory body to enforce it, the legislation will have little effect. (KJ/RH). |
