Annotation | The Scottish Executive commissioned George Street Research to analyse the responses to a consultation on the Code of Practice and proposed regulations accompanying the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003 which is due to come into force in October 2005. The aim of the Act is to put in place a framework for the care and treatment of people with mental disorder in Scotland. The consultation's target audience included national organisations, NHS Boards, local authorities and individuals on whom the legislation was expected to have the greatest impact. This report describes the methodology used in the consultation process, and presents summaries of responses to the various parts of the draft code of practice and regulations. (RH). |
