| Annotation | This document marks the start of a new initiative in which the two Department of Health's divisions of Mental Health and Older People's Services will join forces for the first time to influence change and improve services. This "vision" document is a precursor to a service development guide which will be launched by Care Services Minister, Liam Byrne, in the autumn of 2005. The DH will set up an older people's mental health programme board to ensure the successful delivery of the work programme; and the annual mental health service mapping exercise will include older people's services.
