Annotation | Mid-life is defined as the age group 50-65; and following a series of pilot projects undertaken by the Health Development Agency (HDA), there is clear evidence that this age group identify themselves as a distinct generation whose needs are currently overlooked by service providers. Work by the regional ageing network, East Midlands Tomorrow, has highlighted the significant challenges faced by service providers in the context of an increasingly older population. This briefing aims to highlight the importance of targeting services for this age group, and to support strategic planners and practitioners from a wide variety of sectors and organisations. It draws attention to the policy context, and to the scoping and mapping exercise commissioned by the HDA in 2004. (RH). |
