AnnotationIf enacted, the Bill establishes and makes provision about the office and the function of the Commissioner for Older People in Wales. The Bill has been published in draft form for consultation. Policy behind this draft Bill is based on recommendations of the report, "When I'm 64 ... and more" by the Advisory Group on a Strategy for Older People in Wales (2002), and the "Report and recommendations of the Welsh Assembly Government's Advisory Group on a Commissioner for Older People in Wales" (2004). Responses showed that there is strong public support for the concept and proposed functions of a Commissioner. (RH).
