Annotation | The Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS) is a 14-item scale designed as a brief assessment of both anxiety and depression in non-psychiatric patients. Factor structure of the HADS was investigated in a sample of 680 veterans with limb amputations who were aged 66-92. Of the four models evaluated, a 3-factor model based on L A Clark and D Watson's Tripartite theory of anxiety and depression (1991) provided the best description of the data. (RH). |
