Annotation | The APPLE project (Ageing Populations: Policy Lessons from the East) at the University of Birmingham included a 2-day workshop in March 2003 which brought together policy experts from advanced Asian economies. This book brings together their contributions which considers, first, ageing and social policy in the European Union, followed by case studies on aspects of ageing in Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, and Japan. The editors conclude with their comments on the exercise as a whole. (RH). |
