Annotation | The need for alternative psychological therapies in the treatment of older adults with anxiety disorders is suggested by the significant proportion of non-responders to Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and the lack of other therapeutic options. A new formulation of Brief Strategic Therapy (BST) incorporating advances in the psychology of anxiety provides one such promising treatment option. The applicability of BST to older people and adaptations necessary are discussed and illustrated. (RH). |
