Annotation | A case study of a married man aged 66 with no children is reported. In 1954 during national service with the RAF, he was a participant in an experiment about the effects of a nerve gas on humans. This article outlines the traumatic event, other relevant history, the man's current problems, and his subsequent referral to and treatment by the Community Mental Health Team. An important aspect of the work was to provide the man with a psychological model and formulation with which he could make sense of his post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) symptoms. (RH). |
