AnnotationThe Adults with Incapacity (Scotland) Act 2000 is intended to modernise and improve the law to safeguard the interests of adults who are not able to take some or all decisions for themselves. The Scottish Executive commissioned Alzheimer Scotland - Action on Dementia and the Scottish Development Centre on Mental Health to explore issues around implementation of Parts 2, 3 and 6 of the Act (power of attorney, intromission with funds, and guardianship and intervention orders, respectively). This report summarises the work undertaken, and highlights key issues and lessons to be learned from the first three years of the Act. (RH).
