AnnotationThe British Psychological Society's (BPS) Centre for Outcomes, Research and Effectiveness (CORE) aimed to evaluate and offer advice on the use of outcome measures in relation to older adult clients being seen in the UK. This paper briefly discusses and summarises the 18 measures evaluated: two behaviour rating scales; nine measures of mood; three quality of life / life satisfaction measures; two measures of overall functioning; and two measures of behaviour or memory problems in people with dementia. The aim is to provide advice to clinicians who do not work as part of a specialist older people's service, but may be providing psychosocial services to an older person. (RH).
