AnnotationEuropean health systems face uncertain futures. The two previous items in this Sector Futures series highlighted several factors contributing to this uncertainty, including an ageing population and rising expectations of healthcare delivery. This last in the series examines policy responses to these and other factors at European level. It considers: the European health policy landscape; the Community action programme for public health introduced in 2002; and some specific policy challenges, for example reforming health and social care funding systems.
