Annotation | The 1998 Social Exclusion Unit (SEU) report asked Policy Action Team 15 (PAT 15) to address the access and use of ICTs by people living in the poorest neighbourhoods. The overall goal for PAT 15 was to develop a strategy to increase the availability and take-up of information and communication technologies for people living in such neighbourhoods. This report is the outcome of PAT 15's investigation and details the take-up of ICTs and the barriers that exist to prevent such take-up. PAT 15 identify six key issues that need to be tackled to help overcome such barriers, which includes the lack of support and facilities for older people. This report gives target dates by which time their strategies should be implemented. (KJ/RH). |
