AnnotationThe Home Office commissioned researchers at Queen Margaret University College, Edinburgh to investigate different understandings of 'integration' as a concept, and to design a framework for a common understanding of integration that could be used by local projects and policy makers involved in services for refugees. This report introduces the framework, which comprises ten domains, each structured under one of four headings. First, markers and means: employment, housing, education and health. Second, social connections: social bridges, social bonds, and social links. Third, facilitators: language and cultural knowledge, and safety and stability. Lastly, foundation: rights and citizenship, representing the basis upon which expectations and obligations for the process of integration are established. (RH).
