Annotation | The over 50s are major consumers, spending more than £240 billion a year. However, older people are also over-represented in the lower income quintiles. In addition, age discrimination and poor and inappropriate marketing and sales techniques create barriers which can prevent older people from making rational economic decisions as consumers. The Help the Aged position on these issues is outlined in this policy statement. (RH). |
