AnnotationMost people change jobs at some stage, and while career is the main reason, factors such as reduced pressure and redundancy should not be ignored. Key messages from research conducted by CROW relating to job transitions include: the fact that people changing jobs receive little support; positive experience of work affects willingness to work in later life; and age affects patterns of job transition. The declining mobility of workers as they age means that employers need to consider retention strategies that stimulate skilled and experienced older employees.(RH).
