Annotation | The authors describe their work on the Cuidad Lineal District Elder Abuse Detection Project, developed by a social services team in Madrid. The project's fundamental objective is to validate a scale for detecting domestic abuse and self-neglect - called the Scale of Inadequate Treatment (SIT) - that can be used by social workers. A pilot study with a sample of 34 older people was conducted to determine the detection scale's response format and content, which this article outlines. (RH). |
