AnnotationThe Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) Growing Older Programme (GO) ran from 1999 to 2004, and consists of 24 research projects focusing on what quality of life means for older people. The ESRC GO Programme funded this lay summary, which highlights what 14 older people acting as an editorial board for Help the Aged found most interesting and relevant in the research findings. The report is in five themed sections: older people and quality of life; inequalities in quality of life; environment and place; roles, interests and responsibilities; and change, transition and loss.
