AnnotationThe Employer Task Force on Pensions is an employer-led body with trade union representation chaired by Sir Peter Davis, and was set up in June 2003 by the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions. Its role is to consider ways of increasing and extending occupational and private pension provision. The report is based on conclusions on this and three other areas: increasing pensions awareness and education; the needs of small businesses; and product and scheme design, including annuities. The Task Force makes wide-ranging recommendations to employers, the government, individuals, union, and the financial services industry regarding their respective responsibilities on access to pension schemes, as well as drawing attention to the need for employees to increase private savings.
