Annotation | CCC calls for greater transparency in care policy decisions, that must be founded on a full understanding of present and likely future care needs. Not only should such policies enable people to get the best care possible, appropriate to their needs, but policies must also be realistic, taking into account the skills shortage and funding implications. In the run-up to the general election, this paper provides a policy checklist to help people critically question emerging policy proposals, enabling them to judge more accurately the likely outcome of any promised improvements. The focus is on: individual needs; the supply of care; availability of information and effective regulation; finance and funding; and making the most of retirement income. CCC lists 13 recommendations for political parties to consider. (RH). |
