Annotation | Government plans to transfer seven Department of Health (DH) bodies to the Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE) is causing concern. The author looks at the track record of the seven, and the contribution they are expected to make to social care excellence. Among the seven initiatives being brought together to form the DH's Care Services Improvement Partnership (CSIP) are: the Health and Social Care Change Agent Team (CAT); Integrating Community Equipment Services (ICES); the Integrated Care Network (ICN); the National Institute for Mental Health in England (NIMHE); and the Valuing People Support Team (VPST).
