Annotation | Public knowledge of the forthcoming increase to women's State Pension age (SPA) is examined in this report. These new findings consider how awareness of the change varies according to age, sex, labour market status, region and private pension provision. The report is based on analyses of module questions included in the National Statistics Omnibus Survey in November 2003 and February 2004. Some 2,400 adults of working age were interviewed as part of the research. Since only 43% of all women who will be affected by the increase in SPA could identify their SPA as being 65 years or between 60 and 65, this research will contribute to the design of the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) marketing campaign about the future equalisation of the SPA.
