Annotation | Julie Miller and colleagues describe a study designed to examine the role of contact assessment in primary care. The study was carried out in six GP surgeries - two in Chester, three in Ellesmere Port and one in rural Cheshire - with the social service access team and the social service blue badge scheme. The project was run for one week in primary care and the blue badge scheme, and three weeks in social services. Each patient aged 75+ who attended the GP surgery, and each client aged 65+ who contacted the blue badge scheme's access team during the pilot was asked to complete the self-assessment questionnaire. The article includes the contact assessment questions. (KJ/RH). |
