Annotation | This Private member's Bill was introduced in the House of Lords by Lord Joffe. If enacted, the Bill will enable a competent adult who is suffering unbearably as a result of a terminal illness to receive medical assistance to die at his own considered and persistent request. The Bill also makes provision for a person suffering from a terminal illness to receive pain relief medication. This Bill includes a Form of Declaration. The Bill was dropped after it was referred to a Select Committee in this session. (KJ/RH). |
