Annotation | The Age-Related Payments Bill was introduced into the House of Lords on 9 June 2004. This report notes that in a previous report, that the power under Clause 7(1) of the Bill is wholly general in its terms, and that the Select Committee on the Constitution concluded that the Government had not established a case for the proposed delegation of legislative authority made by clause 7. As the previous report did not receive a substantive reply from the Minister, the Committee decided that the Government should be invited to respond. This report includes the correspondence to and from the Minister, and comments on her reply. (RH). |
