AnnotationThe baby boom generation - those born between 1946 and 1964 - has dominated the US socio-economic landscape for much of the last half century. When the baby boomers were children, demand soared for more schools and more teachers. As young adults, they flooded the workforce, which grew larger than ever before or since. Now, the leading edge of the baby boom is reaching 60; and while most baby boomers are still working, they are on the verge of their retirement years. This article considers how baby boomers' retirement will affect economic growth and the standard of living in the US. (RH).
