AnnotationThis document sets out the National Minimum Standards for nurses agencies in accordance with section 23 of the Care Standards Act 2000. This Act has repealed the Nurses Agencies Act 1957, and also requires nurses agencies to comply with the requirements of Employment Agencies Act 1973 and its Regulations, from which they were previously exempt. The National Minimum Standards for nurses agencies focus on achievable outcomes for service users. The Standards are grouped under five key topics: information (Standard 1); registered persons (Standard 2); recruitment and supply of nurses (Standards 3-6); complaints and protection (Standards 7-11); and management and administration (Standards 12-18). This document also includes the text of the Nurses Agencies Regulations 2002 (Statutory Instrument 2002 no 3212). (RH).
